About Synod

Doctrine

The Lutheran Church is an association of Christians. This church was not founded by Martin Luther in the 16th century, but by Jesus Christ in the 1st century, and only reformed by Dr. Luther because of many abuses. And its proper name is the Reformed Church, the Evangelical Church, the Church of the Augsburg Confession.

The main doctrinal document, the authority of which cannot be disputed, is the Holy Scripture, or the Bible.

The Augsburg Confession, which is also a supporting document used to identify the church as Lutheran, in use together with the following:

  • Apology of the Augsburg Confession
  • Apostolic, Nicene and Athanasian Creeds
  • Small and Large Catechisms of Martin Luther
  • Schmalkaldic articles
